Welcome!

I am an ecologist, with particular interests in quantitative population ecology, community ecology, and education. I currently work as a postdoctoral research associate in the EPSCoR-IDeA program, through the Weinig Lab and Botany Department, at the University of Wyoming. I am part of the Microbial Ecology Collaborative, where I study relationships between soil microbe communities and plants. My principal research goal as an ecologist is to create new knowledge that will be useful for protecting and restoring organisms and ecosystems that have been compromised or are susceptible to change. I completed my PhD at the University of Wyoming in the Doak Lab (now at CU Boulder), through the Program in Ecology.

Communicating science, teaching, and mentoring students are fulfilling aspects of my work in science. If you are a student with questions about ecology, or if you are an educator interested in potential learning opportunities for your students, I encourage you to contact me. In addition to designing and teaching several university-level courses, I have served as a fellow in the UW Science Initiative Learning Actively Mentoring Program (LAMP) and as a Graduate Fellow of the UW Science Posse, an NSF GK–12 program.
